Tyler was not a Great Dane in size, but certainly in spirit!! Don’t let his small stature fool you… he was unquestionably the biggest dog in the house. Many a gopher has rued the day they met Tyler!!! Tyler left us July 19, 2008. As Tyler was aging his vision was getting worse, as was his hearing (and not just the selective kind….) and his arthritis...and all those other ailments that old age brings. But losing his best friend in Tessa was harder on him than even we could imagine, and he aged quite rapidly in just a few short months. The vision/hearing was almost gone, and the arthritic discomfort increased. The last few months Tyler however started to lose some senility - and started to suffer from separation anxiety - something a proud little man like him would never have lowered himself to before...but when his disposition started to change too I knew that he just wasn’t himself and he was suffering more than we could let him. Tyler was my little Buddy before I met James, before we had Vincent and before any Dane entered my heart...and I will always hold a very special place for him there. For 13.5 years he ruled the roost here - and I don’t know how our life will go on with out him in it….but I will see my boy again. Sleep well Little Buddy I miss you more everyday….. |
